The second part of the trilogy was supposed to be released in the fall of 2014, but the developers ran into numerous production delays. The bonus level of the collector's edition of the first game possibly takes place sometime between the introduction scene and the main action of the second game (at the first game's release, it seemed to take place immediately following the main action of the first game, but following the release of the demo of the second game, the chronology concerning the bonus level of the first game is open for debate). Holly tries to solve the mystery that connects her and her sister to the neighbor who gave their family the girls' childhood home their mother's mysterious death when they were girls a girl called Dahlia and a mental asylum called Dark Falls, where a mass murder and fire had taken place years earlier. The game centers around Holly Stonehouse, who is contacted by her long-lost twin sister after a decade. True Fear: Forsaken Souls takes the best of psychological thrillers, combining fun and intuitive gameplay mechanics.
